Classes 1 and 2 follow Aistear - the Early Years Childhood Curriculum Framework. It presents children's learning and development using the four themes of “Wellbeing”, “Identity and Belonging”, “Communicating” and “Exploring and Thinking”.
The guidelines in the framework support children’s learning through partnerships with parents, interactions, play and assessment.
In the Aistear Curriculum children’s learning and development is enriched and extended through play. Children are provided with the time, space, support and props to develop their play, and the teachers plan, support and review school play to make the most of the play opportunities through topic work.
